Choose your booking type
Suggested reservation type: Appointments. Clients book a stylist, not just a time, colour needs a long hold, and every chair needs a clean-up buffer before the next guest — appointment services give you all three.
Set it under Settings → Configuration → Reservation type: tick Appointments and leave the other boxes off. The choice is saved for the selected location.
Create your services
Start with these:
- Cut & finish — 45 minutes, price 1200
- Colour — 120 minutes, price 3200
- Blow-dry — 30 minutes, price 600
All three are appointment services; the long Colour hold is what the close buffer protects.
An appointment service is a class with Open for appointments switched on, edited at /admin/appointments/classes/:classId. In its Settings pill start from: default duration 45 minutes, Time frame 15 min, Buffer time - Open 0 min, Buffer time - Close 10 min, and Working Hours matching your opening hours. Connect staff to the service at /admin/appointments/connect and set each person's hours at /admin/appointments/instructors/:customerId.
Set the booking flow
Under /admin/appointments/settings → Booking flow, order the steps Classes → Instructors → Date:
- Classes: Enabled + Required
- Instructors: Enabled + Required
- Date: Enabled + Required
The service comes first so the right length is held, and the stylist step is required because salon clients follow their stylist, not the calendar.
Passes and payment
Create these under /admin/passes (a visit pack is a number of visits plus validity days; a membership is a duration):
- 5 blow-dry pack — visit pack, 5 visits, valid 180 days, price 2500
The pack suits regulars who come in for a weekly finish; cuts and colour are paid per visit.
Cancellation window: under Settings → Reservation allow customer cancellation with a cutoff of 24 hours before the start (the field takes minutes, so enter 1440).
Customers and features
Dependents: Dependents stay off — each guest books under their own account.
Custom features to switch on at /admin/custom-features (each uses a feature point):
- Automated Waitlists — refills a cancelled colour slot without a phone call.
- Client Intake Forms — records bleach and allergy history before the first colour.
- Branded Booking Website — gives your Instagram link a booking page.
- LINE Booking & Messaging — sends confirmations where Taiwanese clients already chat.

Do it with the assistant
The admin AI assistant reads this playbook and can set the business type, create services and classes, passes, link instructors, set working hours, buffers and the time frame, and enable features — every change is shown for approval before it is saved. Try:
