Which one to use
The Addons tab sits between Connect and Settings on the Appointments page and has three sub-tabs: Items, Groups and Classes (add-on services). You create an add-on once and then link it to one or more appointment services.
| Need | Use | Example |
|---|---|---|
| A yes/no extra that only changes the price or the length — an upgrade, a product, extra minutes | Add-on item with Linking Mode Direct | A 15-minute hot-stone upgrade ticked on its own |
| The customer chooses between options, or you want one None choice | Add-on group of Via group items | Scent, pressure, room type |
| The extra needs its own time on a resource — a second staff member, a room, or a follow-on session | Add-on service (Classes sub-tab) | A 20-minute scalp treatment during or after a massage |
All three can be offered on the same service at once. For worked examples by business type see How Appointment Add-ons Work.
Only an add-on service takes part in the availability calculation; items and groups never need an instructor or a time slot of their own.
Create an add-on item

| Field | What it means | Default/limits |
|---|---|---|
| Name | Shown to the customer on the booking summary | Required |
| Price | Added to the booking total | Multiplied by the number of attendees when Scope is Per Person |
| Duration | Minutes added to the appointment hold | 0 = no extra time; the longer hold must still fit the available window |
| Location | The location the item belongs to | One location per item |
| Linking Mode | Direct: you tick services on the item's own Classes pill. Via group: offered only through the group it belongs to, and the group decides which classes see it | Items in a group cannot be linked to classes one by one |
| Scope | Per Booking: charged once per booking. Per Person: charged per attendee | — |
- Go to Admin → Appointments → Addons → Items and click New.
- Fill in Name, Price, Duration and Location.
- Under Settings, choose the Linking Mode and the Scope.
- Save.
- Direct items: open the item's Classes pill and tick the appointment services that should offer it.
- Via group items: add the item to a group on Addons → Groups (next section).
The Items list shows Direct or Via group for each item, and the service editor's Addons pill (where available) shows the items and groups linked to that service, so you can check the result from the class side.
The two linking modes were recently renamed to Direct and Via group. Only the labels changed; saved settings work the same.
Create an add-on group

| Field | What it means | Default/limits |
|---|---|---|
| Name | Heading of the group's block on the booking summary | Required |
| Selection Mode | Single (Required): the customer must pick exactly one. Single (Optional): one option or None. Multiple: any combination, including none | Single (Required) has no None entry; Single (Optional) adds one automatically |
| Scope | Per Booking charges the chosen options once; Per Person multiplies them by the number of attendees | Set on the group, as for items |
| Location | The location the group belongs to | One location per group |
| Classes | The appointment services the group is offered on | This is the only link for every item in the group |
| Addons | The items that belong to the group | Items must have Linking Mode Via group; create them first |
- Create the member items on Addons → Items with Linking Mode Via group.
- Go to Admin → Appointments → Addons → Groups, click New and enter the Name.
- Pick the Selection Mode and the Scope.
- Choose the Location.
- Under Classes, tick the services; under Addons, select the items.
- Save.
To change which services offer a Via group item, edit the group — the item itself has no class links.
Link an add-on service
An add-on service is another appointment class booked together with the main one, with its own duration and availability. Create the class first (see Create a new appointment service), then link it on Addons → Classes.
| Field | What it means | Default/limits |
|---|---|---|
| Main Class | The service the customer books | — |
| Addon Class | The class booked alongside it | Its own duration and availability apply |
| Price Override, Duration Override (minutes), Points Override | Replace the add-on class's own values for this link | Optional; blank keeps the class's values |
| Scheduling | Sequential: runs after the main class. Parallel: runs at the same time | A Both option that lets the customer choose is not available yet |
| Use Buffer Times | Sequential only: apply the classes' Buffer time - Open / Close between and around the two sessions | Toggle |
| Same Instructor | Parallel only: book both classes with the one instructor | Toggle; off needs a second connected instructor who is free at the same time |
- Go to Admin → Appointments → Addons → Classes and click New.
- Choose the Main Class and the Addon Class.
- Set any Price, Duration or Points override.
- Choose Scheduling: Sequential or Parallel.
- Turn Use Buffer Times (Sequential) or Same Instructor (Parallel) on or off.
- Save.
Sequential always keeps one instructor for both classes: the hold becomes the main duration plus the add-on duration (plus buffers when Use Buffer Times is on) and that instructor must be free for the whole block. Parallel offers a time only when a second connected instructor is free for the add-on's duration — unless Same Instructor is on, in which case both classes are booked with the one instructor and must be classes that instructor can run together.
How customers see them
Add-ons are not a separate step in the booking flow. After the customer picks the service, instructor, date and time, the booking summary / review screen lists the attendee, pass or payment, equipment and every add-on offered on that service. The customer chooses before confirming.

| Selection mode | What the customer must do |
|---|---|
| Direct item | Tick the box or leave it |
| Single (Required) group | Pick exactly one option; the confirm button stays disabled until every required group is answered |
| Single (Optional) group | Pick one option or None |
| Multiple group | Pick any combination, including none |
| Add-on service | Nothing to choose — it is booked Sequential or Parallel exactly as you configured it |
Add-ons with a duration (items with extra minutes, or a Sequential add-on service) lengthen the held time, so a time is only offered when the longer block still fits the available window. Per Person prices multiply by the number of attendees, Per Booking prices are charged once, the total updates as choices change, and the add-on lines appear on the reservation and in checkout.
Archive and change later
Archive an item, group or add-on service when you stop offering it. Archived add-ons are excluded from every picker and from the customer booking summary, while past bookings that include them are unchanged. An alert asks you to confirm before anything is archived or deleted.
| To change | Edit |
|---|---|
| Which services offer a Direct item | The item's Classes pill |
| Which services offer a Via group item | The group's Classes — not the item |
| Which items a group contains, or how many may be picked | The group's Addons and Selection Mode |
| Price, duration or scheduling of an add-on service | The link on Addons → Classes |
You can also ask the admin AI assistant to list, create or change add-on items, groups and add-on service links; it reads the current catalogue first and shows each change for approval.
