What this setting controls
The start-of-week setting tells the calendar which weekday to use as the first column when displaying weeks. It is your studio's default: the admin calendar and the customer-facing calendar both use it, unless a customer has chosen their own first day of the week in Account > Preferences.
How to change start of week
Go to Admin → Settings → Configuration → Start of week. Pick a value from Sunday through Saturday and save. The default is Sunday.
Start of week has moved here from the Calendar settings page, and no longer appears under Settings → Calendar.
Multiple locations: if "Do you want to have settings per location?" is turned on in Configuration, each location has its own start of week (as well as its own date, time and name formats). Pick the location in the location picker at the top of the page before changing it. With the toggle off, every location shares one value, set with All locations selected.
Date, time and name formats
The same Settings → Configuration page also sets how dates, times and names appear across your studio by default. Each option carries the note "Customers can change this in Account > Preferences."
- Date format — each option shows a sample date: May 16, 2025; 16 May 2025; DD/MM/YYYY; MM/DD/YYYY; or YYYY-MM-DD. When the app is in Chinese, the two written formats (May 16, 2025 and 16 May 2025) both appear as 2025年5月16日.
- Time format — 12-hour (1:30 PM) or 24-hour (13:30).
- Name format — First Last, Last First, LastFirst (no space), first name only, or last name only.
If you haven't chosen a value, the app uses May 16, 2025, 12-hour and First Last.
The week shown at the top of the admin Calendar does not follow the Date format setting. It always reads like Oct 5 - Oct 11, 2026, with month names in your app language. When a week runs into a new year, both years are shown, for example Dec 29, 2026 - Jan 4, 2027.
How customers choose their own preferences
Customers can override your defaults on the Preferences page in their account. The Preferences entry appears in the Account page only after the customer signs in; signed-out visitors who reach the page see a "Please login" message and cannot change any option.
- Name format, date format, time format and first day of the week — each list starts with a Default option that shows your studio's current setting. Choosing Default follows your setting, including any later changes you make.
- First day of the week — customers can pick any day, Sunday through Saturday.
- Saved to the account — choices are saved to the customer's account, not the device, so they apply on every device the customer signs in on. If a change can't be saved, an error message appears and the previous choice is kept.
Customers who aren't signed in always see your studio's defaults. The week number option has been removed from the date picker and from Preferences.
