What this setting controls
The reservation type tells the booking system which booking model your business uses. It controls which menu items, pages and UI sections appear on both the admin side and the customer side. Changing it hides or shows large parts of the system.
The three booking types
The Reservation type setting is a group of three checkboxes:
Classes — "You schedule a class and your customers reserve a spot." Use this for group classes like yoga, dance or fitness sessions where customers book a fixed time slot.
Appointments — "Your customers make an appointment from a range of available times." Use this for one-to-one services like consultations, massage or coaching where customers pick a time from your availability.
Equipment hire — "Your customers rent equipment for a duration they choose." Set up hire times and prices on each piece of equipment, on its Standalone hire tab.
More than one type — you can check more than one booking type only when the All bookings custom feature is on. When it is off, only one type can be checked and the others are disabled. A card for All bookings appears below the list, with an Enable button and a Learn more button.
How to change the reservation type
Go to Admin → Settings → Configuration → Reservation type and check the booking types that fit your business. Save.
Without All bookings, only one type can be checked. To change it, uncheck the current type first; every option then becomes available again, and you can check a different one.
Important: switching modes hides existing data rather than deleting it. If you change from "Schedule" to "Appointments", your existing classes remain in the database but the Class menu disappears for both admins and customers. Switching back restores access.
Multiple locations: if "Do you want to have settings per location?" is turned on in Configuration, each location has its own reservation type — for example one location runs classes while another runs appointments. Pick the location in the location picker at the top of the page before changing it. With the toggle off, every location shares one value, set with All locations selected.
