What this setting controls
Payment at booking applies to one-off-priced classes and appointment services that inherit the business setting. It does not change which passes a Pass only class accepts.
- No payment — confirm the reservation with the full class amount still outstanding.
- Deposit — collect part of the class price now and retain the exact remaining balance.
- Full payment — collect the complete one-off class price before confirmation.
A class can use the business value or, where the Payment section is available when editing the class, keep its own payment-at-booking value. Both the Payment settings page and the Payment section in class edit are available to businesses using the new checkout.
Buy a pass while booking
Buy a pass while booking sits below Payment at booking and applies to bookings that only accept passes. It decides where a customer without an accepted pass can still hold their spot and buy the required pass in the same checkout:
- Pass must be bought first — no spot is held anywhere; the customer buys the pass before booking.
- Calendar classes only — allowed on calendar classes; appointments still require the pass first.
- Appointments only — allowed on appointments; calendar classes still require the pass first.
- Calendar classes and appointments — allowed on both.
How to configure deposit options
When Deposit is selected, choose a percentage or fixed amount.
- A 25% deposit on a $200 booking charges $50 now and leaves $150 outstanding.
- A fixed $25 deposit on the same booking charges $25 now and leaves $175 outstanding.
- A deposit equal to the booking total is valid and leaves no balance.
Deposit required for all customers controls exemptions. If it is off, set the completed-visit threshold after which an existing logged-in customer is exempt. Guest customers cannot use an account's visit history until the guest purchase is claimed by that account.
For a fixed Booking quantity package, the class price and deposit apply once to the whole package; they are not multiplied by the number of places.
How to apply
Go to Admin → Settings → Payment settings. Use the location picker at the top of the page to choose the branch you are editing, choose the location/global scope, select the payment-at-booking mode, configure deposit fields when applicable, set Buy a pass while booking, and save. Each location can hold different values, and the rule you save is applied consistently wherever that location's bookings are made.
What customers see follows from the setting. Where booking first is allowed, the spot is held and the required pass is offered in the booking confirmation step, in the same checkout. Where it is not allowed, the customer is shown the accepted passes to purchase and then returns to book the class or time slot.
Customers can pay an outstanding class or appointment balance from the basket. The balance remains attached to the original reservation and location, including after one attendee in a linked fixed-quantity package is cancelled.
