What these settings control
These three settings are your business defaults for how people and times appear on screen. They apply to admin tables and attendee lists, to the customer app and to the booking summary, so the same customer reads the same way everywhere.
| Setting | Options | Use it when |
|---|---|---|
| Name format | First Last (John Smith) · Last First (Smith John) · LastFirst (SmithJohn) · First Name Only (John) · Last Name Only (Smith) | Your customers are mostly Chinese-speaking and expect surname first, or your staff only ever use first names. |
| Date format | May 16, 2025 · 16 May 2025 · 16/05/2025 · 05/16/2025 · 2025-05-16 | Match the way dates are written in your country. The two written formats appear in Chinese when the app is in Chinese. |
| Time format | 12-hour (1:30 PM) · 24-hour (13:30) | Your schedule is easier to read one way or the other; 24-hour avoids AM/PM mix-ups on evening classes. |
Name format only changes how a name is displayed. The first and last name stored on the customer's profile stay exactly as entered.
How to change them
- Go to Settings → Configuration.
- Scroll to Name format, Date format and Time format. Each date option shows a sample date so you can see the result before choosing.
- Pick the values you want and click Save.
Multiple locations: if Do you want to have settings per location? is turned on in Configuration, each location keeps its own name, date and time format (as well as its own start of week). Pick the location in the location picker at the top of the page before changing them. With the toggle off, every location shares one value, set with All locations selected.
How customers choose their own
Customers can override your defaults on the Preferences page in their account (available once they sign in). Each of Name Format, Date Format, Time Format and first day of the week starts on Default, which follows your business setting; anything they pick instead is saved to their account and applies on every device they use.
Your choice never overrides a customer who has picked their own. If you change the business default later, only customers still on Default see the change.
