What this setting controls
Guest checkout lets a customer complete the new checkout without first creating login credentials. The form collects the enabled/required customer fields. The backend creates a server-side customer record marked as a guest so the cart, reservations, equipment, payment, and purchase still use a real customer ID; this is not a browser-only profile and it does not sign the guest in.
The legacy checkout remains login-only.
How to enable
Go to Admin → Settings → Customer, turn on Guest checkout, and save. On the next load of the new checkout payment step, a customer who is not signed in can continue as a guest. Classes, appointments, accepted-pass purchases, one-off prices, deposits, and paid equipment still follow their normal checkout rules.
Claiming the guest purchase
After payment, the confirmation page offers Create account and Sign in, prefilled with the guest email. Registering or signing in with the matching verified identity upgrades/claims the guest customer so the purchase and reservation appear under the account. Social login follows the same claim flow.
The setting remains development-only in the current admin UI and should be tested with the new checkout before wider rollout.
