Deep Pool Lanes and Buoys
Deep Pool Lane: two units, capacity 4, Exclusive, Required. Dive Buoy: six units, capacity 2, Exclusive, Required (one buoy per buddy pair). Link lanes to the pool courses and buoys to the depth sessions.
Discover Freediving (Group Class)
Discover Freediving (size 6) reserves Lane 1 when scheduled. Students 1–4 share that lane; the fifth opens Lane 2, which the session then holds as well. If Pool Skills Training already holds Lane 2 at that hour, the Discover session caps at four students.
Because this is a group class on the calendar, each session reserves one unit of every required, exclusive item when it is scheduled — before anyone books. Attendees are placed on that unit in turn and never pick it; once it is full the next attendee moves to the next free unit (choosing it themselves if the group is Customer Choice). When no unit is free, the session reads as full even if seats remain.
Depth Sessions (Appointments)
A Depth Training Session booked by a buddy pair takes one buoy whole; a solo diver booking with the instructor also takes a whole buoy. Six buoys, six sessions at once.
For an appointment service every booking is its own session: an exclusive unit is taken whole by the booking that reserves it, and a shared unit is filled by other bookings at the same time up to its capacity.
Wetsuits, Fins and Masks by Size
Create Wetsuit Hire with units named by size (S, M, L, XL, two of each), Selectable, Optional, priced — the customer picks their size as the unit. Fins and masks are Optional, Hidden.
Standalone Hire
On the Deep Pool Lane item open Advanced → Standalone hire, turn on Available for standalone hire and set Block duration 60 minutes, Price per block $500, Time frame 30 minutes, Buffer time - Open 0, Buffer time - Close 0 and Hire hours 10:00–20:00 Tuesday to Sunday, Monday Closed. Certified divers can then hire a lane for buddy training. The hidden hire service has capacity 8 (two active lanes × capacity 4); a hire takes whole lanes by quantity.
On the Hire page a diver picks Deep Pool Lane and a start time; Duration +1 adds an hour as Additional time, Quantity 2 takes both lanes for a club night, and the plus button is disabled while Discover Freediving holds the other lane. Hire is paid in full at booking by the price per block — no passes, and the item's ordinary Price does not apply — and needs Equipment hire among your booking types. You can also ask the assistant to change these settings.
Checking Allocations
Open Equipment → Allocations — the first tab — to see who holds each lane and buoy. The columns are Equipment, Unit, Customer, Class, Start time, End time and Capacity used; a Session badge marks a unit held for a whole class session. Filter by Class (Discover Freediving, Depth Training Session), Equipment (Deep Pool Lane, Dive Buoy), Customer or Date range, or search by equipment, unit or class name or class schedule ID. Use load more or load all for long lists. Lane hires appear here as bookings on the lane's hidden hire service. You can also ask the assistant to list allocations for a session, class, customer, item, unit or date.
Changing Items and Groups Later
The edits this business makes most often:
- Add a seventh buoy — open the item, choose the Units pill and select Add Unit, or enter a new Total units and select Go.
- Take a buoy out for line replacement — in the Units pill set its status to Maintenance with a start date (the end date is optional). It leaves class capacity and standalone hire until it is Active again.
- Change the wetsuit hire price or the lane hire price — on the item's edit page; the hire price is Price per block under Advanced → Standalone hire.
Every one of these can also be done by asking the assistant.
