Tubs and Tables
Wash Tub: four units, capacity 1, Exclusive, Required, Hidden. Grooming Table: three units, capacity 1, Exclusive, Required, Hidden. Link the tubs to Bath & Brush and both items to Full Groom. A Dryer used for minutes by everyone is one Shared, Optional unit — listed for information, never a limit.
Grooming Appointments
A Full Groom booking takes one tub and one table for its whole duration; a Bath & Brush takes only a tub. Four tubs mean four dogs in the water at once however many groomers are on shift, and the fifth booking at that time is refused as fully booked.
For an appointment service every booking is its own session: an exclusive unit is taken whole by the booking that reserves it, and a shared unit is filled by other bookings at the same time up to its capacity.
Puppy Grooming Workshop (Group Class)
A Puppy Grooming Workshop (size 3) is a calendar class linked to the tables. Scheduling it reserves Table 1 and each owner who books takes the next; the tables it holds are closed to Full Groom bookings for the workshop's two hours.
Because this is a group class on the calendar, each session reserves one unit of every required, exclusive item when it is scheduled — before anyone books. Attendees are placed on that unit in turn and never pick it; once it is full the next attendee moves to the next free unit (choosing it themselves if the group is Customer Choice). When no unit is free, the session reads as full even if seats remain.
Standalone Hire
Create Self-Service Wash Tub as its own item (two units, capacity 1, Exclusive), open Advanced → Standalone hire, turn on Available for standalone hire and set Block duration 30 minutes, Price per block $250, Time frame 15 minutes, Buffer time - Open 0, Buffer time - Close 15 minutes for the rinse-down and Hire hours 09:00–19:00 daily. The hidden hire service has capacity 2 (two active units × capacity 1).
On the Hire page an owner picks Self-Service Wash Tub and Sunday 10:00; Duration +1 adds a half hour for a large dog as Additional time, Quantity 2 takes both tubs for two dogs, and the plus buttons are disabled when the next block or tub is not free, buffers included. Hire is paid in full at booking by the price per block — no passes, and the item's ordinary Price does not apply — and needs Equipment hire among your booking types. You can also ask the assistant to change these settings.
Checking Allocations
Open Equipment → Allocations — the first tab — to see which dog is in which tub. The columns are Equipment, Unit, Customer, Class, Start time, End time and Capacity used; a Session badge marks a table held for the whole workshop. Filter by Class (Full Groom, Puppy Grooming Workshop), Equipment (Wash Tub, Self-Service Wash Tub), Customer or Date range, or search by equipment, unit or class name or class schedule ID. Self-service hires are listed here too, as bookings on the tub's hidden hire service. Use load more or load all for long lists. You can also ask the assistant to list allocations for a session, class, customer, item, unit or date.
Changing Items and Groups Later
The edits a dog wash makes most often:
- Add a fifth tub — open the item, choose the Units pill and select Add Unit, or enter a new Total units and select Go.
- Take a tub out for a drain repair — in the Units pill set its status to Maintenance with a start date (the end date is optional). It leaves appointment capacity and standalone hire until it is Active again.
- Change the self-service price — Price per block under Advanced → Standalone hire on the Self-Service Wash Tub item.
Every one of these can also be done by asking the assistant.
