What this setting controls
Default attendance (previously called Activate check in) sets the attendance status given to every new reservation. Each option shows a short description under its name on the settings page. There are three options:
- Attended — customers are marked as attended as soon as they book. You only need to change customers who did not come.
- Not attended — customers are marked as absent until staff check them in or they check in at the kiosk.
- Pending — no attendance is recorded until staff mark it or the customer checks in at the kiosk. This option was previously called Not recorded. Only the name changed: it works the same way, and if you had already chosen it, your saved setting stays as it is.
Pending and Not recorded: a reservation that started with the Pending default, and that nobody has marked yet, shows as Not recorded in attendance lists and reports. The two names describe the same state: nobody has marked whether the customer came yet. It is not counted as a no-show.
Changing the default does not change existing reservations. Only reservations created after you save use the new default.
How to change
- Go to Admin → Settings → Reservation.
- Use the location picker at the top of the page:
- All locations — the default applies everywhere.
- A specific location — the default changes only for that location. Other locations keep their own setting.
- Under Default attendance, choose Attended, Not attended or Pending.
- Click Save.
The settings page no longer explains the location choice in the Default attendance section, so use the location picker as described above to control where the default applies.
Note: When a specific location is selected, Default attendance is the only reservation setting shown. All other reservation settings (cancellation, reservation time, overlapping and multiple bookings, and so on) are available only under All locations.
