What this setting controls

Customer dependents lets a primary customer add other people — typically children, siblings or partners — to their account, and book classes on their behalf. Reporting, history and pass deduction continue to roll up to the primary account. A second sub-setting, Edit dependent, controls whether the primary customer can add and edit dependents themselves or only view ones an admin has set up.

If your business calls these people something else, you can rename the word Dependent in Settings → Customization → Customize text, and the new wording replaces it on these screens.

How to enable

Go to Admin → Settings → Customer → Customer dependents. Turn the main toggle on. The Edit dependent sub-toggle decides whether customers can manage dependents themselves; set it to No and customers can only view the dependents you set up for them. Save when done.

Once the setting is on, each customer record gains a Dependents tab under Users, where Add Dependent opens the add/edit Dependent window. The Users list also gains a Dependents column, immediately after Roles, listing each customer's dependents by name; customers with none show the usual empty value marker. Turn the setting off and the column is no longer shown.

How customers use it

Customers manage dependents from Account → Dependents, using Add Dependent and View / Edit Dependents. When booking a class, an attendee dropdown lets the customer choose whether to attend themselves or assign the spot to one of their dependents.
