Spots Combine Seats and Equipment
For any session — a group class or an appointment service — the bookable number of spots is the smaller of two limits: the seat limit (class size) and the equipment limit. If a session seats 12 but only eight required units are free at that time, only eight spots can be booked.
When a class or appointment has no required equipment, equipment never limits it and spots equal the seats. Optional equipment is offered as an add-on and never reduces spots.
Included and Optional Equipment
On the class or appointment details, customers can open an Equipment "More Info" list that separates:
- Included — required equipment that comes with the booking and sets how many spots the session can sell.
- Optional — extra equipment a customer can add, such as a rental racket or mat. It is listed for information and never blocks the booking.
Customers only see equipment that is linked to that class or appointment. Private unit names, maintenance notes, and inventory status are never shown.
Choosing a Unit, Surcharges, and Full Equipment
How a unit is presented depends on the item's display mode: Hidden shows nothing, Visible shows the auto-assigned unit name after booking, and Selectable lets the customer pick a specific numbered unit (for example a court or reformer) during checkout. Any equipment price appears as a surcharge such as +$10.
While a customer is checking out, a short hold reserves their equipment, so a session can briefly show fewer spots — or the message that the required equipment is fully booked at that time — until the hold clears. Admins can still force a booking on a full session; customers cannot.
