Add-on items
Group courses do not take add-ons — they apply to appointment services only — so the examples use the One-to-one tutoring session (60 minutes) and the Placement test. Two Standalone items under Appointments → Addons → Items:
- Extra practice time — Price 300, Duration 15, Scope Per Booking, Linking Mode Standalone, Classes: One-to-one tutoring. The tutor stays 15 minutes longer; the hold becomes 75 minutes and the fee is charged once.
- Printed workbook — Price 250, Duration 0, Scope Per Person, Standalone, Classes: both. Every student needs their own copy, so siblings sharing a session pay twice.
An add-on group
Students pick any mix of exam-prep extras, so use a Multiple group. Create Past-paper pack (Price 200), Marked mock essay (Price 400) and Progress report (Price 150), all Duration 0 and Linking Mode Part of Group. Then create the group Exam prep, Selection Mode Multiple, Scope Per Person — each student gets their own papers and report — Classes: One-to-one tutoring. Order the members Past-paper pack, Marked mock essay, Progress report.
An add-on service
A Mock exam is a 30-minute supervised appointment service, so it is an add-on class. Under Addons → Classes create: Main Class One-to-one tutoring, Addon Class Mock exam, Scheduling Sequential, Use Buffer Times on — the lesson's close buffer gives the student a short break before the timed paper starts. Leave the overrides blank. The slot is offered only when the tutor is free for lesson, buffer and exam in a row.
What the customer sees
A parent books One-to-one tutoring for 2 attendees (twins). The summary shows the Extra practice time and Printed workbook tick boxes, the Exam prep block with three tick boxes, and the Mock exam as configured. Workbook adds 2 × 250 and Past-paper pack 2 × 200, both Per Person. Ticking Extra practice time adds 300 once and lengthens the hold from 60 to 75 minutes, so a start time that would run into the tutor's next student disappears. There is no Single (Required) group, so the confirm button is available straight away.
Changing add-ons later
Most common edits:
- Add Vocabulary flashcards to Exam prep — create it as Part of Group, then add it under the group's Addons.
- Raise Marked mock essay to 450 — edit the item's Price on the Items tab.
- Archive the Summer-holiday Reading pack — it leaves pickers and new bookings; past bookings keep it.
- Offer Printed workbook on the Mock exam too — tick the class in the item's Classes pill.
You can also ask the assistant to make any of these changes.
