Add-on items
The spa's appointment services are Swedish massage (60 minutes), Deep tissue and Couples massage. Create two Standalone items under Appointments → Addons → Items:
- Hot-stone upgrade — Price 300, Duration 15, Scope Per Person, Linking Mode Standalone, Classes: Swedish massage, Deep tissue and Couples massage. Each guest's massage is 15 minutes longer and each pays the upgrade, so the hold grows to 75 minutes and a couple pays twice.
- Muscle balm to take home — Price 350, Duration 0, Scope Per Booking, Standalone, same classes. A product; one jar per booking, nothing added to the time.
An add-on group
Guests choose one scent for the room, so make it a group. Create Lavender, Eucalyptus and Citrus (Price 100 each, Duration 0, Linking Mode Part of Group). Then create the group Aromatherapy scent, Selection Mode Single (Optional) — guests who prefer unscented oil pick None — Scope Per Booking because one diffuser scents the whole room however many guests are in it, Classes: every massage service. Drag the members into the order you want them shown.
An add-on service
A Scalp treatment is a 20-minute appointment service with its own therapists, so it belongs under Addons → Classes. Create: Main Class Swedish massage, Addon Class Scalp treatment, Scheduling Parallel with Same Instructor off — a second therapist works on the scalp while the massage continues, so the time is only offered when another connected therapist is free for those 20 minutes. If you would rather the same therapist did it afterwards, choose Sequential instead and the hold becomes 60 + 20 minutes. Leave the overrides blank.
What the customer sees
A couple books a Couples massage for 2 attendees. After the time step, the summary shows the Hot-stone upgrade and Muscle balm tick boxes and the Aromatherapy scent block (Lavender, Eucalyptus, Citrus, None). Choosing Lavender adds 100 once; ticking Hot-stone upgrade adds 2 × 300 and lengthens the hold from 60 to 75 minutes, so a slot that would overlap the room's next booking is no longer offered. The scent group is Single (Optional), so they can confirm without choosing. On Swedish massage the Scalp treatment also appears, offered only when a second therapist is free.
Changing add-ons later
The edits this spa makes most:
- Add a Sandalwood scent — create the item as Part of Group, then open Aromatherapy scent and add it under Addons.
- Raise Hot-stone upgrade to 350 — edit the item's Price on the Items tab.
- Archive the Winter Ginger-oil special — archiving hides it from pickers and new bookings; past bookings keep it.
- Offer the Scalp treatment on Deep tissue too — add a second add-on class with Main Class Deep tissue.
You can also ask the assistant; it reads your catalogue first and shows each change for approval.
