The bond between MUAY PLUS and OmceanBooking started when both were just beginning their entrepreneurial journeys.

From those early days of cooperation until now, MUAY PLUS has seen its branches and membership steadily increase, bringing new needs for class management. With a higher volume of bookings, the division of labor across branches and the organization of member data had to be adjusted. We hoped OmceanBooking could keep pace with MUAY PLUS, helping the team handle these challenges so they could dedicate more energy to running their branches and caring for their members.

Our long-term partnership has also given us a deeper understanding of a martial arts gym's actual daily operations. Identifying which workflows are clumsy and what arrangements save time provides the direction for our system's continuous improvement. Today, eight branches—Wenzhong, Sanduo, Jiangong, Nanzi, and Fengshan in Kaohsiung, alongside Wenxian, Dongmen, and Yongkang in Tainan—use OmceanBooking for class management. To us, these branch names represent more than just the hard-earned results of MUAY PLUS; they represent a trust that has endured since our early days.

As MUAY PLUS brings Muay Thai to more people, we've walked alongside them, better understanding what a gym needs to handle every day. While the problems change as members increase and branches expand, the mutual desire to do things well remains constant.

Watching an old friend do what they love better and better, and having the opportunity to contribute, is the most joyful part of this partnership.

MUAY PLUS: Cultivating Local Muay Thai Gyms, Turning a Trial Class into a Weekly Anticipation

MUAY PLUS wants to make Muay Thai accessible to more people. Their programs range from building fundamentals and applying techniques to live sparring. They offer group classes, private lessons, and private group bookings, allowing people with different goals to find the right starting point. Those aiming for competitions can train seriously; those just looking to break a sweat after work have their place too. Punches and footwork that feel unfamiliar at first eventually click through practice. Someone who just came to "try it out" might proactively book their next class.

MUAY PLUS’s deep local roots are built upon these interactions. Opening a new branch means getting to know a new community and ensuring the new team delivers excellent teaching and service. As the brand expands outward, its understanding of its members must deepen inward. Members keep coming back because of how they feel after every class and every interaction at the front desk.

This gives multi-location management a very specific direction: branches can multiply, but the familiar care cannot spread thin. Every branch must be capable of catching the needs of its local members, and the underlying class management must naturally keep up.

Expanding a Muay Thai Gym: Independent Accounts or Multi-Location Branch Features?

Currently, MUAY PLUS manages its eight locations using independent merchant accounts, with each branch managing its own classes. OmceanBooking also offers another method: enabling the branch feature under a single merchant account to centrally maintain multiple locations.

Here, an "independent account" means a separate merchant management workspace, not a separate login for every branch manager.

When we discuss this with brands that have multiple locations, we first want to understand: How do the branches collaborate daily? Do members frequently cross over between branches? What data does the front desk need to process? Only by understanding the operational details can we choose the truly suitable method.

Independent Merchant Accounts: Separate Management of Members, Class Passes, and Operational Data

With independent merchant accounts, each branch maintains its own members, schedules, class passes, payment settings, and operational records. Even though they operate under the same brand name, the data does not merge automatically.

In MUAY PLUS’s current setup, staff log into the corresponding branch's workspace to look up members and classes for that specific location. When branches need to independently store data and have their own teams handle daily operations, this structure is highly suitable.

Conversely, if the brand wants to compare overall performance, it must consolidate reports from each branch. Members also cannot use class passes and data interchangeably across different branches.

OmceanBooking Branch Feature: Centralized Class Management for Frequent Cross-Branch Members

If members frequently switch training locations and the team prefers centralized management, the branch feature is worth evaluating.

Members use a single account under the merchant, switching between branches to view classes; the management end maintains schedules, addresses, and related info for all branches in one backend. When a member attends a class at another branch, there's no need to create a new member profile.

When setting the applicable scope for class passes, you can design cross-branch plans while still retaining single-branch exclusive options. Sharing a member account doesn't mean every class pass is universal across all branches.

Staff permissions and payment collection should also be planned together. Administrators can assign workflows based on roles and branch scopes. Payment settings can be shared if supported by the provider, or branches can use different payment gateways and merchant credentials. Centralized management doesn't mean every branch has to do everything exactly the same way.

Comparing Independent Accounts and the Branch Feature: Data Sharing Matters More Than Store Count

Management ItemIndependent Merchant AccountsMulti-Location Branch Feature under One Merchant
Members & BookingsMaintained separately; no automatic crossover.Centralized members; bookings arranged by branch.
Class PassesEach branch manages its own plans; cannot be deducted across merchants. Can design single-branch or cross-branch applicable plans.
Staff PermissionsAuthorized separately by each merchant.Configured by role and branch scope.
Payment SettingsSet and verified separately by each merchant. Can be shared or set by branch, depending on gateway support.
Operational ReportsQueried per branch, then manually consolidated.Viewed in one backend, filtered by branch based on report scope.

If members and data need to be strictly separated, look at independent accounts first. If cross-branch services are frequent and you want to share member data, prioritize the branch feature. Simply wanting branches to collect payments separately doesn't automatically rule out the branch feature.

MUAY PLUS chose independent management, but other brands might make different choices. We want to find a structure that makes the team's daily work smooth, rather than forcing on-site staff to constantly adapt to the tool.

Catching Multiple Muay Thai Bookings at Once: Connecting Schedules, Payments, and Notifications

Once the management method is set, we return to the daily grind: How do members sign up? How does the front desk change shifts? What do coaches see before class?

A long-lasting partnership relies on handling these everyday tasks well.

Course Series: Booking the Whole Term Upfront to Master the Basics

There's a big gap between learning a move and truly executing it smoothly—it takes many practice sessions. For fixed-term beginner Muay Thai classes or thematic training, continuous classes allow the coach to pick up where they left off and observe the progress of the same cohort. If members have to book every single session, they might forget, or their preferred slot might fill up. It’s a shame when their desire to train is interrupted by scheduling friction.

MUAY PLUS uses the Course Series feature, which links a class pass to a designated set of sessions, automatically generating bookings upon purchase based on your settings. Each branch confirms the term dates, capacity, and waitlist rules beforehand. Once members sign up, they have a clear view of their upcoming schedule.

When members decide to seriously advance their progress, the gym secures their schedule. Fixed classes on a calendar are easier to coordinate with work and other activities. Coaches get the roster in advance and can prepare a progressive curriculum. What was rusty last time can be practiced again next time, allowing progress to accumulate bit by bit.

For a team like MUAY PLUS with many members and branches, the Course Series also saves the effort of manually logging the same registration for every single session and constantly checking for missed bookings.

Member Passes and Online Payments: Seamless Service During Shift Changes

Through Member Management, authorized staff can look up a member’s bookings, class passes, and purchase history. Paired with Online Payment Management, plans, amounts, and payment statuses can be instantly verified. Which classes a pass covers, how the expiration is calculated, and whether it’s valid across branches can be explained upfront via Digital Consent Forms and Pass-Specific Terms, allowing members to read, ask questions, and sign.

When this data is complete, the next colleague taking over knows exactly where things stand. Regulars don't have to dig up old payment messages every time, and new members can easily understand their plans. Recognizing every familiar student is a brand's warmth; handling their entrusted matters efficiently is the dedication that makes relationships last.

App Rescheduling Notifications: Keeping Members Informed Before They Leave the House

Members might want to train regularly, but life is full of work, family, and other commitments. They might remember their class time but forget when their pass expires; they might try to plan next week’s training only to realize they don't have enough sessions left, requiring them to spend time sorting it out.

MUAY PLUS enabled Advanced App Notifications, adjusting content and sending conditions based on supported notification types. Beyond changes to class times, coaches, or studios, it handles booking confirmations, pre-class reminders, and alerts for passes that are expiring or running low on sessions.

Clarifying the branch and time before class makes it easy for members to plan their commute. Early reminders about expiring passes or low session balances give them time to plan their remaining classes or inquire about renewals. Thinking of these little things in advance saves members from last-minute surprises and rushed confirmations.

We want the system to remember these easily overlooked details for MUAY PLUS. While the staff cares about how the member is training, the tool instantly handles which pass is expiring or which class needs a reminder. Even as membership grows, this attentiveness remains embedded in the daily routine.

Multi-Location Operational Reports: Helping MUAY PLUS Understand Local Member Needs

Operating locally requires listening to the rhythm of different communities.

Some branches might see concentrated evening bookings, while others are building a base of daytime regulars. What the reception hears most often, and what coaches know students want to improve, are vital clues when adjusting the curriculum.

Operational Reports help review bookings, attendance, and pass sales. With independent branch management, teams can align their reporting periods and metrics, then consolidate and discuss them to easily spot differences.

We hope these numbers help the team ask better questions. If a specific class is consistently full, should another session be added? If a new time slot is still gathering members, should we observe it a bit longer? Combining data with on-site experience helps find the right next step much better than simply looking at which branch has the highest revenue.

New branches have their own homework, and mature branches have areas to adjust. Understanding what each branch is experiencing allows the brand to provide practical support so local teams can take good care of their members.

Muay Thai Branch Management and Cross-Branch Booking FAQ

If I only have two gyms, should I use independent accounts or the branch feature?

Look at how members and your team interact first. If members frequently cross over and need to share data, evaluate the branch feature. If members, plans, and operational data need to be separate for each location, consider independent merchant accounts. A two-location brand might need a very different setup depending on these factors.

If I use the branch feature, can each branch still collect payments separately?

You can assign different payment gateways or merchant credentials based on supported branch payment settings, subject to the service provider's conditions. Branches wanting separate payment verification don't necessarily have to be split into different merchant accounts.

What other features work well when group classes are full or equipment is shared?

Evaluate Waitlist Management to handle standby spots. When private lessons and group classes share heavy bags or training zones, use Equipment Management to verify resources based on actual capacity and usage. Circuit training classes must be set up according to the teaching arrangement; you cannot simply equate one heavy bag directly to one student spot.
