Class categories help you organize your classes into groups, making it easier for customers to browse and filter classes. This article explains the settings available when creating or editing a class category.

Important Information

The essential details for your class category.

  • Name - The category name displayed to customers and in the admin panel. Use the language selector to enter names in English and Chinese. Maximum 30 characters.
  • Color - Choose a color for the category. This color appears as a badge next to classes in this category, providing quick visual identification on the calendar and class lists.

Tips:

  • Use clear, descriptive names like "Beginner", "Advanced", "Yoga", or "Pilates"
  • Choose distinct colors for different categories to make them easy to distinguish

Classes

View and manage the classes assigned to this category.

  • See a list of all classes currently in this category
  • Click on the class count in the category list to quickly view classes in that category
  • Classes are assigned to categories from the individual class settings (Important Information > Category)

Note: To add or remove classes from a category, edit the class itself and change its category assignment.

Tags

Add tags to your category for additional organization.

  • Tags provide extra categorization beyond the category name
  • Select from existing tags or create new ones
  • Tags can help with internal organization and reporting

Managing Categories

From the Class Categories list, you can:

  • +NEW - Create a new category
  • REORDER - Change the display order of categories
  • OPTIONS - Filter and customize the view
  • Search - Find specific categories
  • Delete - Remove categories (select categories first using checkboxes)

Best practices:

  • Keep the number of categories manageable (5-10 is ideal for most businesses)
  • Use categories that make sense for how customers browse your classes
  • Consider using categories for skill levels (Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced) or class types (Yoga, Pilates, HIIT)
